Uncle Buddy, I'm sad that you had to leave this earth, but happy to know that you will be re-united with our loved ones in Heaven that left us all way too soon...I can hear laughter and stories just like I remember when we all gathered together for family dinners and holidays usually at Grma Goode's. My childhood memories are the best and I Love telling my grandsons and younger siblings stories of all the fun times we had. Thank-you for serving our country, Love you and you'll be deeply missed!! The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Edgar Louis Goode our “Brother-in-Arms”.   To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Edgar.   And to Edgar it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force.  Edgar, we commend you for your honorable service.  You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction.  You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country.  We bid you a sad farewell.  You will be dearly missed from among our ranks.  Be at Ease.  Rest in Peace.

Uncle Buddy, You really stepped in when my Daddy, your brother, Joe Wesley Clark, passed away much to soon for all of us, and did everything you could for your nieces.  I was honored and proud that you wanted to walk me down the aisle when I got married.  Then we had another tragedy when your brother, Marlin Goode, was also taken from us way too early.  Who would know that  his son, Bobby Goode, would end up officiating for us.  Then tragedy struck again when your brother, Eugene Goode, was also taken away from us all way too early. Who would know that Tina, his daughter, would be there to accept your flag.  We knew you wanted to stay with your friends and be close to the base after you lost your dear loving wife, Minako, but we always loved you and will forever carry fond memories of you with us.Marilyn Clark Rea, your niece.
