A Celebration of life for Edward Joseph Conrad is scheduled for 10 AM, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Rev. Pat Day will serve as officiant for the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Edward Joseph Conrad, born May 5, 1942, passed away July 25, 2019 after a valiant fight with a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Phyllis Conrad; grandson-in -law, Christian Wientjes; and brother-in-law, Darryl Pelletier. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Sheila Conrad; son, Eddie Conrad with wife Jana; daughter Colleen Conrad; two sisters, Donna Conrad Norris and Michelle Conrad Pelletier; grandchildren, Erin Lee, Kassie Newman Morgan, Kody Newman and Zack Conrad; great grandchildren, Griffin, Haylin, Brooklin, Dyllan, Addie and Kody II; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
Ed joined the Air Force September 1960 and spent 22 years serving our country as a superintendent combat crew in communications where he received numerous medals and honors. He was manager of Service Merchandise for 15 years, where employees became family. Ed, known as papa to many, loved fishing, camping and reading... and most of all, spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, caring nature and kind heart. He will be greatly missed and truly loved.
