

Eldridge “Sandy” Hugh Sandefur, Jr. passed on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on Wednesday, January 13, 1943, in Lecompte, Louisiana, to the late Eldridge Hugh Sandefur, Sr. and Claudia Jolene Sandifer Sandefur.
Sandy loved his country and served this grateful nation enlisting in the United States Navy. He served and retired as Captain on the Shreveport Police Department. Sandy worked as a pest control consultant and served eighteen years as a US Marshal Court Security Officer. He was a member of Lifewater Church in Bossier City. In his younger years, Sandy enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out at the deer camp. He loved working and protecting his community. Sandy never took for granted time with family for family was of the utmost importance to him. He loved providing, protecting, and spending quality time with his family. Sandy took great pride in caring for his “Sweetheart”, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandy was extremely sharp and loved to learn details of world history.
Sandy was so very proud of his son and grandson following in his footsteps as he would refer to them as Blue Bloods.
Sandy was preceded in passing by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Sandefur, two sisters: Sandra Young, Joanne Heinrich, and a son-in-law, Doug Webb.
Left to cherish Sandy’s wonderful memories will be his beloved “sweetheart”, Dian Woods Sandefur, two sons: Scooter Sandefur and wife Kynn, Michael Morrow and wife Sharon, one daughter, Jana Webb, six grandchildren: Justin Sandefur and wife Hannah, Heather Sandefur and fiancé` Nate Cunningham, Natalie Hinds and husband Cole, Ariel Morrow, Alayna Morrow, Jase Morrow, two great-grandchildren: Walker Hinds, Addison Hinds, along with extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staffs of Willis Knighton Pierremont and Colonial Oaks for the comfort and care provided.
A Celebration of Life service for Sandy will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, Louisiana.
The family will be receiving guests for sharing of Sandy’s memories on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in the Hill Crest Chapel from the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be a private graveside service.
