Eleanor Sandifer

Bossier City, LA- Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Averett Sandifer will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sandifer entered into rest at home on August 19, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born in Logansport, LA to William Kelly and Eva Caraway Averett on December 17, 1928.

A native of Louisiana, Mrs. Sandifer grew up in Logansport and was a 1949 graduate of LA Tech. In 1959, she married the love of her life Dr. Don Sandifer. Together they raised two children. Mrs. Sandifer enjoyed making crafts, cross stitching, stained glass, and crochet. She loved to cook and could make a “mean pie.” Above everything else, she was a loving wife, and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Dr. Don Sandifer; son, Scott Sandifer of Shreveport, LA; and daughter, Kim Sandifer of Austin, TX; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacky Averett, Larry Bagley, William Brandt, Wesley Griffin, Richard Paschall, Tom Rowland and Jesse “Bud” Averett.
