Elizabeth Hensley

Betty, also known as “Ginny” to her family, was a homemaker. Ginny was the heart of the family that she loved fiercely along with her church and her friends. Ginny was an amazing quilter whose patterns told stories. She quilted wedding quilts and baby blankets for just about anyone. Ginny was also a wonderful baker and cook. Whether she was stitching a quilt while humming hymns or pulling something from the oven, Ginny turned ordinary days into something sacred, wrapping everyone around her in warmth and love that will linger forever.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (Don) Hensley; her son, Steve Hensley, and daughter-in-law, Mona Hensley; her son, Donnie Hensley; her daughter, Linda Jones, and her son-in-law, Carl Jones.

Ginny is survived by her grandsons, Jonathan Hensley and wife, Kaylee; Stevie Hensley and Amanda Patterson; and Jason Jones; her granddaughters, Jennifer Jones and Elizabeth Hensley; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Hensley; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Hensley and Jacob Murray; Mason and Serina Hensley; and RJ Fertal; and her great-great-grandchild, Charlee Murray.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Barksdale United Methodist Church with the service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
