HAUGHTON, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Elsie Nell (Willis) Cain, 85, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Conducting the service will be Mrs. Cain’s cousin, Mr. Kenneth Cone, of Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green, KY. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cain was born on June 29, 1928, in Crossett, AR and passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She retired from Bossier Parish School Board as a school bus driver and was the former President of the Bossier Parish Bus Drivers’ Association. Mrs. Cain was also a member of First Baptist Church of Bossier City and was an Eastern Star.
Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Mr. William Matthew Cain; parents, Bart Willis and Lula Johnson; brother, B.T. Willis; and sister, Louise Greene. She is survived by her son, Gary Cain and wife Carol of Shreveport; daughter, Sandra Normand of Shreveport; grandchildren, Melanie Roberts and husband John-Paul of Haughton, Christopher Cain and wife Ashlee of Springfield, VA, and Danielle Normand of Shreveport; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Roberts, Olivia, Jack, and Sophia Cain; sister, Fran Stone and husband Robert of Crossett, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and Becky Cone, who was dearly loved by Mrs. Cain.
Honoring Mrs. Cain as pallbearers are Dr. James Willis, Lonnie Willis, Steve Cone, Chuck Templin, John-Paul Roberts, and Robert Stone.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Colonia Oaks Nursing Home, Gamble Hospice nursing staff, Dr. Anil Veluvolu and the Willis Knighton Cancer Center.
