He was a man of strong faith who loved God and lived life with pride in the things that mattered most to him. He was honored with several awards for his television program, Inside Louisiana Downs, a testament to his talent and dedication. He proudly served his country and was a recipient of the Purple Heart, recognizing his service and sacrifice during his time in the military.
Outside of his professional accomplishments and military service, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved his guns, watching Vietnam documentaries, and taking great pride in his yard, always wanting it to look its best. He also had a special love for classic automobiles, and his dream car was a 1946 Ford convertible.
These passions, accomplishments, and the values he held dear were all part of the man he was. He will be remembered for his faith, his strength, his dedication, and the unique interests that brought him so much joy.
Errol is survived by his children, Carla Cunningham (Mike), Charles Cunningham (Charity), and Rebecca Winegar (Charlie) along with ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Betty; father, Bennie; brothers, Don, Randy, and Roger; sisters, Gayle, Joyce, and Pat and his beloved dog, Muff.
Pallbearers will be Steven Winegar, Charlie Koehler, Joshua Simon, Joey Brallier, Joshua Brallier, and Roy Hightower.
A visitation for Errol will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 E., Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
Following the visitation, a service will be held at 10:00 AM at the same location; Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.
