Bossier City, LA
Still in Charge! After a strong-fought battle with cancer, Eva Maria Overman passed away close to home Friday, September 3rd at Willis-Knighton in Bossier City, Louisiana. Born in Kassel, Germany on March 18, 1951, you can be sure she was giving that medical staff the what for in her cute little German accent until the last possible moment!
Eva is survived by her husband and sidekick of 30+ years William “Bill” Overman, and three children, Britta Sharp, Warren Overman and Wendy Warrick. A couple extra-special visitors are brother-in-law Olaf Schoeppe from Germany, and son-in-law Jim Sharp, who flew home early from Afghanistan to be here. Eva and Bill continue to have an extended family at the VFW Post #5951 in Bossier City.
The epitome of the Field Team Wife, Eva made sure the many relocations for Bill’s work (Currently with VSE @ Barksdale AFB), were always handled efficiently to every last detail, and with a positive attitude toward their “New Adventures.”
The immediate family viewed her body Friday and by all accounts, “Her last smile was the best smile! The most peaceful and beautiful one she’s had in close to a year!
Foregoing traditional viewing and funeral arrangements, Eva chose to be cremated. Her family and friends will be hosting “Eva’s Celebration of Life” on Monday, September 5th at 2:00pm in the Canteen at the VFW Post #5951 located at 1315 Northgate Road Bossier City, LA 71112. For information please call the VFW at (318) 746-7611.
In lieu of flowers, please send any words of appreciation or donations in care of The VFW Post 5951 Lady’s Auxillary 1315 Northgate Road Bossier City, LA 71112. They were an amazing group of people for Eva and her Family during a trying time.
Please remember, Eva is in a pain free place and happy to be reunited with her sister Annelie Schoeppe. God knew he needed another Angel, he just didn’t know she’d be running the place so soon!
