

Felix Anthony Hesser was born in Pelican, Louisiana on November 15, 1944, where he lived with his parents Lee Hesser and Helen Hesser and his siblings, Lillie, Robert, Buge, Dorothy, Bobby and James. Felix and his beloved sister Dorothy were the last living siblings.
Felix lived on the farm in Pelican. He learned to raise crops, using a mule to plow the fields. Felix attended Pelican school where he graduated. He ran the track and was good at running. After finishing high school, he moved to Shreveport where he met Diane Caldwell in Shreveport, and they married in 1964.
He enjoyed watching boxing and tennis on tv.
He worked for Beaird Industries as the sales manager. He was an outstanding salesman. He traveled around the world from Japan, Canada, England, and other places selling digesters and large fabricated parts made by Beaird Industries. In addition to working at Beaird Industries, he built houses and renovated houses to rent. He could design the house, draw the house plans, and serve as the general contractor to build the house. After 33 years at Beaird Industries he became a New York Life Insurance agent. He sold life financial products, insurance products and mutual funds. Due to his hard work ethic, he succeeded at New York Life and later at LPL Financial. He won numerous awards while at New York Life. He retired and lived in Shreveport before residing at Brookdale assisted living in Alexandria, Louisiana to be closer to his son.
Felix is survived by his two children: Cheryl Ann Hesser Bourque Auerbach and David Cleveland Hesser (Angela); his four grandchildren: Anthony Bourque, Valerie Bourque Martinez (Martin "Marty"), Mark Hesser, and James Hesser; great grandchild, Scarlett Martinez; sister, Dorothy Hesser Kavanaugh and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Diane who passed from Chron's disease in 2019; parents Lee and Helen Hesser; sister, Lillie Mae Hesser Legrand; brothers, Joseph B. Hesser, Robert L. Hesser, Bobby Joe Hesser, James Ray Hesser, and Alex Hesser.
Pallbearers will be Anthony, Marty, Mark, James, Lester, and David.
A visitation for Felix will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 E, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. Following the visitation, service will be held at 12:00 PM in the Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1016 LA 346, Pelican, LA 71063 and St. Mary's Cemetery Association at 167 JK Rambin Road, Pelican, LA 71063.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Brookdale Assisted Living in Alexandria for their excellent compassion and care. Especially Ms. Jackie, Sandie, Sam, Leslie, Denise, April, Vanessa, Nicole, Allison, April, Kristi, Peyton, Mr. Eddie, Ms. Wade, and the many caregivers.
