Florentina (Tina) Rodgriguez Milstead departed this life peacefully on May 28, 2021 in Bossier City, LA. Tina was born in San Leon, TX on June 20, 1939 to Jose Rodriguez and Ignacia Cruz. She came to know Christ and was baptized at a very young age in Texas where she grew up with her twelve brothers and sisters that she absolutely adored. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Attending birthday parties, athletic events and weddings were her favorites. She had a “green thumb” like no other and her flower beds were glorious. And, if you mentioned you loved one of her plants; she would dig up part of it and give it to you. She loved serving her church family in any way she could and flourished while singing in church choir where they would travel to local nursing homes to perform. She most recently became enthusiastic about her new Fitbit that tracked her steps throughout the day.
Tina is survived by her children, Charles Wooley (Debbie) of Calhoun, LA., Nancy Knowles (Rick) of Benton, LA., Steve Wooley (Missy) of Ruston, LA and step-daughter, Kim Winfrey (Shane) of Calhoun, LA; sisters, Jerrie Case (Gerald), Clara Saldana, Dottie Torres, Virginia Mata, Carolyn Garza, and Irene Villa (Jesus); 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Andrew Ordell (Buddy) Milstead; parents, Jose and Ignacia Rodgriguez; daughters, Leah Elliot Milstead and Cynthia (Cindy) Lynn Lenard; sisters, Antonia Perez, and Geraldine Trevino; brothers, Joe Rodgriguez, Domingo Rodgriguez and Stevan Rodriguez.
Services entrusted to Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home of Haughton, LA. Visitation will be Friday, June 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest. Memorial. Service will be Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Airline Baptist Church, Bossier City, LA. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Calhoun City Cemetery, Hwy. 151 Calhoun, LA.
Pallbearers will include Joshua Knowles, Jacob Tucker, Jeremy Lenard, Manual Garza, Carlos Saldana, Jaime Rodriguez and Patrick Dispenza.
