Frances Green

Frances Green, 94 passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born in Jackson, MS November 14, 1931, which is where she met and married her loving husband, Paul Green, Sr. They moved to his hometown outside DeRidder, LA where they enjoyed gardening, farm animals and the country life.

During her career she worked at Montgomery Ward and as a bookkeeper until she retired. She loved God with all her heart and spent many years as a church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She settled in Bossier City where she spent the remainder of her years enjoying precious time spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Green, Sr., her father and mother, Joseph and Natalie James, her brothers Emerson James and William James and her sisters Evelyn Carballo, Alice Mizell and Marjorie Gorday.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Karen (Duane) Lawhorne of Bossier City, her immediate grandchildren, Sarah Lawhorne of New York, NY and Ryan Lawhorne of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of her siblings as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews of her husbands’ family that she loved and claimed as her own.

Visitation will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1253 Mitchell Harper Rd., Deridder, LA 70634, on July 24, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. A Chapel Service will follow at the same location on July 24, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will take place at Shiloh Cemetery, 1253 Mitchell Harper Rd., DeRidder, LA 70634, on July 24, 2026.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shiloh Baptist Church of DeRidder, LA, Airline Baptist Church of Bossier City, LA or the charity of your choice.
