Gary Dale Teague

Gary's career as a first responder was marked by his role as a district chief for the Bossier City Fire Department, from which he retired in 1980 after two decades of commendable service. He was also one of the first EMT's. Following his retirement, he took over the family business, Teague’s Blacksmith and Welding. A testament to his skills and dedication to preserving his family's legacy. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and golfing with family and friends. He was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of his Sunday school class.

Gary was a faithful Christian, a devoted husband, loving father and known for his warm personality. Gary dedicated his life to service, family, and faith. He had the rare ability to make strangers feel like long-time friends, a quality that endeared him to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his first wife, Betty Hendrix Teague, and daughter, Kelley Teague Christenson.

Gary is survived by his wife, Rebecca Knaub Teague; children, Gary Kyle Teague (Jeanne), Steven Laurence Teague; Shannon Boudreau and Tony Boudreau (Anna); daughter in law, Debbie Collum Teague grandchildren, Aubri Teague Nesmith (Chad), Kori Teague Hannibal (Zach), Cody Teague, Darrell "Butch" Bird (Rachel), Megan Charlton, Shannon Debusk Sorrels (Zach), Michala Boudreau (Nolan), Brayden Darde, Landen Boudreau and Paisley Holmes along with 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Christian Bird, Landen Boudreau, Tony Boudreau, Brayden Darden, Nolan James and Cody Teague. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Dyson and Larry Hatcher. Officiating will be Brother George Rogers.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his community and his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy. 80 East, Haughton, LA. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, prior to the service.
