Genevieve Hazel Capps Carver

BOSSIER CITY, LA-Services celebrating the life of Genevieve Hazel Capps Carver, 90, will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, LA 71037 with Bro. Rodney Smith and Sis. Maxine Busbee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103. The family will receive visitors Friday, July 22, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Genevieve was born in Collinsville, Oklahoma September 25, 1925. After graduating from high school, she moved to Guthrie, OK where she worked for Faith Publishing House before her marriage. She loved music and sang with The Carver Quartet for over 50 years. She was ordained as a minister of The Church of God in 1965. Her ministry was her life and carried over beyond the pulpit. Not only was she a minister, she was a nanny and a support worker for C-BARC where she cared for others.

She had a great appreciation for all things beautiful. She loved everybody and never met a stranger.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arnett Jackson Carver. She is survived by her children; Nathan Carver, Jonathan Carver and wife Cindy, and daughter Lisa Kelly and husband Galen of Ponca City, OK. Also left to cherish her memory are her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Carver, Joel Carver, Benjamin Kelly, Colin Carver, Regan Carver and David Kelly. Kody Hayden will be an honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank Dr. Royal Becker for the special care and compassion he provided to Genevieve during her last days.
