Geoffry Lynne Moseley, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 58. Geoffry was a man of faith, a proud patriot, and a protector whose life was defined by service.
Geoffry served as a Platoon Sergeant for the Louisiana National Guard and was a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team, where he performed over 20 services. Over the course of his 27 years of military service, he earned more than 20 ribbons and numerous decorations, including the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), German Armed Proficiency Badge, Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. In addition, he was awarded a medal from the U.S. Coast Guard for distinguished service during a joint operation. Geoffry’s dedication to protection and service continued beyond the Army through his work with the Louisiana State Police, Federal Air Marshals, and the Louisiana Youth Challenge Program.
He will be remembered not only for his dedication to his country, but for his big heart, sense of humor, and his gift of storytelling. Geoffry could hold anyone captive with a tale, from the smallest moment to the biggest adventure, we have heard them all. He lived with a fierce love for family, friends, and his three loyal companions, Cami, Shadow, and Nugget.
Geoffry was a man who believed in duty, faith, and freedom, and who would have laid down his life to protect another. His courage, loyalty, and love will be carried forward by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Ruth Jeannette Dunn Moseley and Danny Joe Moseley; sister, Connie Pace and her husband, Phillip Pace; sister, Gwen Perkins, and her husband, Mark Perkins; brother, Darell Moseley; brother, Lorne Moseley and his wife, Autumn Moseley; and his beloved children, daughter, Courtney Renay Ruiz, her husband Sandy Ruiz, and their two children Kyrie and Christian; daughter, Rebecca (Krysti) White, and her son Gabriel; and, son, Wade Moseley. He was loved by his nieces and nephews, Derek, Daniel, Nick, Savannah, Samantha, Ashley, Candace, Hope, Erica, D.J., and Randall. Geoffry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Opal Clark, and his maternal grandparents, Maudine and Jack Bethea.
Geoffry has reported to a higher command, where there are no more battles, only peace.
