Georgeanne Elizabeth Tharp

Services celebrating the life of Georgeanne Elizabeth Tharp will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Airline Baptist Church with Pastor Harrell Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

Georgeanne was born on August 13, 1943 in Marshall, TX. She was a Bossier High School graduate. She retired from the Bossier Parish School Board where she worked in the insurance department. Georgeanne married the love of her life in March of 1961. She was a loving and devoted mother of four, the best Gammomma, Memomma and Memom ever. She was a longtime member of Airline Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Tharp, Sr. and son, James "Jimmy D" Tharp, Jr.

Georgeanne is survived by her children, Sandy Tharp Templeton and husband Billy of Doddridge, AR, Paula Tharp Maynor and husband Jamie of Shreveport, LA, and Jay Tharp of Bossier City, LA.

Survivors also include her grandchildren, Brandy Creech and husband Buddy of Bossier City, LA, Dusty Johnson and wife Shauna of Benton, LA, Kasey Danielle Bell of Benton, LA, Justin Maynor and Shaynon Kearns of Haughton, LA, Preston Maynor and Kolbie Minogue of Haughton, LA, Katelynn Tharp, and Camden Tharp of Bossier City, LA; great-grandchildren, Carter Bell, Riley Danielle Bell, Kinlee Jo Creech, Levi Creech, River Johnson, Walker Johnson, Trenton Maynor, Peyton Maynor and Hudson Maynor; brother, Paul M. Allen and wife Janet of Bossier City, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many great friends including Betty Williams, who helped her children through this journey.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Johnson, Justin Maynor, Preston Maynor, Camden Tharp, Buddy Creech, J. Riley Bell and Paul Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter Bell, Trenton Maynor, Peyton Maynor, Hudson Maynor, River Johnson, Walker Johnson and Levi Creech.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Airline Baptist Church Building Fund.
