Glocina is survived by her husband of 52 years, John D. Disotell; daughter, Patricia G. Disotell; son, Robert J. Disotell and his wife Virginia; granddaughters, Brenda L. Disotell and her wife Stephanie and Jennifer D. Disotell; as well as great children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glocina was born on February 1, 1939 in Center Point, LA to Robert F. Reed and Mary Ella Jackson. She graduated from Lafargue High School in Effie, LA in 1957. She married John, a state employee, in 1963. After moving to Bossier City, Glocina began working for Jim Dandy bending pipe that was turned into children’s swing sets. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed 2 children, Robert & Patricia, into their home and Glocina began teaching them how to be the people God would want them to be. Her children will remember her as a humble, gentle, patient and loving mother who always encouraged them to be the best versions of themselves they could be.
Glocina worked for Wal-Mart for 20 years before retiring and dedicated her life to Belle Park Baptist Church and Silver Threads. She was someone who couldn’t sit still and was always making sure that everyone was taken care of even if that meant her going without.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA with a reception to follow at Belle Park Baptist Church. The service will be preceded by a visitation from 10 – 10:45 for anyone who would like to come and pay their final respects and help celebrate Glocina’s life. Flowers are welcome but in lieu of those if you would like to donate to the Silver Threads Group at Belle Park Baptist Church that is always appreciated. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
