Born on November 12, 1942, Gloria built a life defined by family, hard work, strength, and grace. She enjoyed a long career in radiology and ultimately served as Director of Radiology at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Gloria was a warm but strong woman who carried herself with class wherever she went. She was a gracious Southern woman with a strong sense of tradition and style, and she rarely went anywhere without being dressed for the occasion. Those who knew her will remember both her warmth and her unmistakable strength of character.
She loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed playing golf. Over the years, she also enjoyed tennis and fishing. Some of her happiest times were spent on the golf course with her husband, Bob, and with family and friends.
Gloria married Robert Lynn Utley on February 25, 1978, and they shared 48 years of marriage before his passing earlier this year.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lynn Utley, and her parents, Ethel Rambin and William Day.
Gloria is survived by her children, Kimberly Lynn Belt (David), Terry Allan Blake (Happy), and Robert Jason Utley; and her grandchildren, Hunter Blake, BJ Layfield (Mary), Gabe Smith (Natalie), Jack Utley, and Ansley Utley; great grandson Hunter Layfield and great great granddaughter Harvey Lynn Layfield
Visitation will be held on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 US-80 W, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am – 11:30 am.
Gloria will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
