Funeral services for Grady L. “Papaw” Wilcher, 85, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bob Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilcher was born January 6, 1927 in Carthage, MS; and passed away February 16, 2012
in Shreveport after a short battle with cancer. He was a retired salesman in the Automobile Industry in the Shreveport-Bossier area after forty-five years of service, a member of El Karubah Shrine, a 32nd. Degree Mason, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Sammy Mitchell and Ardie Mitchell; four brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of fifty-two years, Dorothy Wilcher; sons, Ronn Wilcher and wife Sandy; Larry Wilcher and wife Marvis; daughters, Brenda Benefield and husband Bill; Karen Faulk and husband Ken; Anita LeGrand and husband Jimmy; and daughter-in-law, Candy Mitchell; sister, Otis Fuller, sister-in-law, Violet Means, ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Larry Wilcher, Jr., Matt Wilcher , Packy Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, Trey Thompson, and Troy Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Jesse Patton, and Jeff Wiley.
