James William Aldrich, age 86, entered into eternal life on Friday, June 7, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana, with his loving wife and beloved family by his side. He was of the Catholic faith and served God’s word in many capacities: beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
James was born on June 8, 1937, in Lima, Ohio. April 22, 1961, James married the love of his life, Mary Kathryn Wieser. James served proudly in the United States Navy. Then, James dedicated himself to law enforcement. He was with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 4 years. He worked for several railroad companies and concluded his career as Director of Security for the Canadian National Railroad. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. James thoroughly enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde and Anna Cecelia (Bires) Aldrich. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kathryn Aldrich; and children, Kathleen (Aldrich) Hannon and husband, Lawrence; Jennifer (Aldrich) Brown and husband, Timothy; and Mary Ann (Aldrich) Tatham and husband, Charles; brother, George Aldrich and wife, Myra. He was a beloved grandfather to seven grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to thirteen great-children.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of James William Aldrich will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Road, Benton, Louisiana, with Monsignor Matthew Long, Pastor, officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:30 until time of Service.
James final resting place will be Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
