James was born December 1, 1939, in Hobart, Oklahoma to the proud parents, Noble and Flora (Epperly) Gore.
"Jimmy" was raised in the area graduating from, nearby, Lake Valley High School. Soon after, as our country was in conflict with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, Jimmy decided to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. This became a career, as he remained in service for over 20 years achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant, being awarded the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, amongst several other awards.
Jimmy met the love of his life and they sunk roots in Bossier City, Louisiana, as he was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base.
Mr. Gore went on to a second career, into automotive parts and service industry, working for Kennedy Distributers & Supply.
Throughout his life, he remained true to his roots, continuing to root for his OU Sooners and being the true American that he was, he cheered on America’s Team: the Dallas Cowboys. Most importantly, he loved the Lord and his family, as many think of him fondly, at Cypress Baptist with his family, faithfully, every Sunday.
Preceding Mr. Gore in passing were his parents, his beloved wife, Irma McNeese Gore and his brother, Byron Gore.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Pamela Gore and Noble Gore; brother, Doug Gore; and sister, Sunny Jo Boddy; along with numerous friends.
A graveside funeral service for James will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, Louisiana, with Bro. Billy Pierce, presiding.
