James Robert "J.R." Hammett

A student at BPCC JR was a kid at heart and was the type of person who never met a stranger. If you needed anything, he would give you the shirt off of his back. He worked hard and loved even harder. You could see him anywhere and he always had a smile to offer anyone and a hand to lend to those in need. He loved his Monster energy drinks; he loved his Chevy trucks, and most of all he loved his family and friends to no abandon. He was an adventurer and loved to learn new things and try new experiences. JR Loved to live life to the fullest. Now, he is on a new adventure walking hand in hand with the Lord.

JR was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Hammett Jr; his mother Cheryl G. Anderson Hammett Rosalee; his step-father Gary Don Rosalee; his sister Catharine Marie Hammett; his nephew Devin O’Ryan Hammett Ashworth; his Grandparents; Great Grandparents and numerous other family and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Meredith L. Hammett Ashworth and husband George (Tommy) Ashworth Jr.; Niece Shuanna Ashworth; Nephews Cody (CJ) Ashworth and Brayton Ashworth whom he was raised and grew up with; Daughter Madison Nicole Hammett; Aunts and Uncles Rebecca Cope; Renette Hammett and Greg Miller; Remona and Danny Compton, Renee and Roger Windom; Renita Kurth, Randy and Cheryl Hammett; James G. Anderson II and wife Kim; Sister in-law Crystal Ashworth; and numerous Cousins, Family; extended family; Close family friends and Friends.

Service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel 601 US Highway 80 East; Haughton, Louisiana 71037 Brother Sistrunk will officiate.
