Services celebrating the life of James Dayton Harmon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
James was born in Shreveport, LA to Clarence D. and JoAnn Norris Harmon on August 28, 1959. He graduated from Parkway High School in Bossier City. During his career, James worked oilrigs offshore, as a mechanic, and drove a truck. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, visiting with friends and working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Dayton Harmon; brother, Jerry Wayne Harmon; sister, Mary Helen Harris; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marse Harmon of Ringgold and grandmother, Mrs. Willie Norris of Bunkie.
James is survived by daughter, Shelby Ryan Harmon of Florida; mother, JoAnn Norris Harmon; niece Melissa Ann Prine and husband Dan, all of Bossier City; granddaughter, Julia Ann Bickham of Minden, Tx; great niece, Kenlee Grace Prine and great nephews, Brady and Bo Prine as well as several cousins.
The family would like to thank Melody Golden Coleman, Rachel Munro, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bickham and Julia Ann, nurses and staff at WK Bossier, Roseview Nursing Facility and Regional Hospice for the love and care they showed James and the family.
