Jean P McCoy

Family Matriarch Jean P McCoy was called home to the Lord on August 6, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1936, in Ruston Louisiana to Tom "Irvin" Pilgreen and Mattie Virginia Hoy.

She was a Christian who loved all things especially her children. Jean had an affinity for nature. She was an explorer who loved caverns, hiking, and sightseeing.

Jean had a way with plants, especially the propagation of almost any species.

From an early age, Jean was a hard worker, she worked various jobs before marrying her former husband Jack McCoy to help grow Alpine construction and form McCoy's industrial developers, these companies led to the development of much of Bossier City and some of Shreveport, with the pinnacle being Alpine industrial park.

This success led Jean and her family to travel America and many parts of the world.

Jean is survived by children: Mike McAnn (Susan), Rick McAnn (Deborah), Brett McAnn (Brenda), Jeanie McCoy, Todd McCoy (Kristin), Steps: Shawn McCoy and Colleen McCoy. Grand children: Dustin McAnn (Amanda), Courtney Johnson (Chris), Mikey McAnn (Theresa), Leslie May (Justin), Shelbie and Ashby Grafton, Mya and Jack McCoy. Great grandchildren: Kennedy McAnn, Theo and Wes Johnson, Zach and Aiden McAnn.

Preceding Jean in death are her parents and her oldest dearest friend Kathyrn McAnn.

A memorial service will be held for Jean at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, on August 13, 2026, at 9:00AM with Gevan Spinney officiating.

Jean was grateful to all who helped and supported her throughout her life, and the family wishes to express gratitude to the caregivers, neighbors and well-wishers who helped them through these difficult times.

Jean McCoy the centerpiece of life for her family will forever be missed.
