Jeffrey Lee Barton

Jeffrey passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home. He was born October 17, 1964 and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana. He graduated from Bossier High School in 1982 where he spent all his high school years as a football player. Jeffrey began work with the Louisiana Department of Transportation at a very young age and retired in 2018.

Jeffrey was an avid hunter and softball player. In his retirement you would find him riding around his property enjoying the wildlife or taking hunting trips to Wyoming to hunt with his son, Cord. During the spring and summer months, he loved going to the softball fields and playing in tournaments. Through both, he met tons of people and none of them were ever considered a stranger.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his loving wife, Kim; his father, JC Barton; his mother, Mary Barton and son-in-law, JP Player.

He is survived and greatly missed by his three (3) children, Amber Player of Bossier City, LA, Courtney Mushko of Bossier City and Cord Barton and wife Megan of Cody, Wyoming; sister, Jan Horne and her husband Paul of Bossier City, LA; niece, Janie Conkle and husband Hunter of Bossier City, LA and five grandchildren, Isaiah Bass, Jeremiah Player, Khloe Player, Zoe Player and Whitlee Barton. He is also survived by a host of close friends and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Corey Mitchell and Dr. Paul Cole for the continuous friendship and support to our family during this time.
