

Funeral services and visitation for Jeffrey Faludi, M.D. will be at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Dr. Shreveport, LA 71105, on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Followed by a burial at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80 E., Haughton, LA 71037. Visitation is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Dr. Faludi was born in Philadelphia, PA., on September 17, 1943, and passed away Monday, October 20, 2025. He has been a resident of Shreveport since 1951. He attended C.E. Byrd High School, graduating in 1961. Jeff also attended LSU-Baton Rouge, graduating in 1965 where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans graduating in 1970. His father, Dr. Heinz Faludi, had the honor of presenting Jeff with his Medical Diploma. He was on active duty in the U.S. Army serving as a General Medical Officer at Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne, N.J. and was awarded decoration for outstanding duty.
Dr. Faludi received his training in Ophthalmic Surgery in Baltimore, MD, prior to starting his private practice of Ophthalmology in Shreveport in 1976. During his training in Baltimore, he was fortunate to have been able to spend time at the “Christian Hospital” in Taxila, Pakistan. He worked with Dr. Norval Christy, at his mission doing cataract surgery.
He practiced Ophthalmology in Shreveport for 50 years. Dr. Faludi has served as President of the Shreveport Medical Society, member of LA State Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Louisiana/Mississippi Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Association. He was a past board member of the Shreveport Medical Society, Biomedical Research Foundation, United Way, and LA Association for the Blind. He is a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and East Ridge Country Club.
Jeff’s hobbies included painting, boating, fishing and spending time with family. He has been married to his beloved wife for 59 years and considered his loving family to be his biggest joy. He felt privileged to be in the medical profession and caring for his patients.
Retiring from private practice, Jeff continued working for the State of Louisiana as a Medical Consultant for the Department of Disability Determination Services.
Dr. Faludi was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Heinz and Shirley Faludi. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, his sons, Jeffrey Eric Faludi, Jr., Jason Christopher Faludi and his wife Debbie, and three grandsons, Max, Pierce, and Jeb. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Johnson, his nephews Colquitt and Hutch Johnson, their wives Nicole and Megan; grand nieces and nephews Brook, Ethan, and Leigh James; his cousin Dr. Ronald Parker and his wife Mari and their son Mako Parker.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Faludi, Jr., Jason Faludi, grandsons Max Faludi, Pierce Faludi, Jeb Faludi, and Jack LaBorde.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, St. Jude's, American Cancer Society, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Anil Veluvolu for his exemplary care and nurses and staff of Willis Knighton North in hematology and oncology.
