Jere Grice

Jere graduated from Fair Park High School and lived a life marked by hard work, adventure, and dedication to the things he loved. Throughout his career, he held a variety of jobs, including working on an offshore oil rig and beginning his broadcasting career as a cameraman at KSLA Channel 12, where he eventually rose to become News Director. Following his time in broadcasting, he worked constructing metal buildings and building golf clubs at King Built.

One of the most exciting chapters of Jere’s life began when he joined the NHRA Safety Safari. Traveling across the country with the NHRA Drag Racing circuit, he served as a “fire diver,” courageously responding to fiery crashes and helping save countless racers from burning race cars. His bravery and commitment to helping others earned him the respect and admiration of many throughout the racing community.

Jere had a lifelong passion for photography and automobiles. Following retirement, he devoted much of his time to these interests, capturing memories through his camera lens and enjoying the cars he loved so much.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sebron Leo Grice; his mother, Margueritte Grice; and his sister, Sandra Mosiman.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Peggy Grice; daughters, Tanya Harmon and husband Keith, Dana Casey, and Shea Chism; son, Sebron Dakota Grice and wife Morgan; grandchildren, Kristen Johnson and husband Kris, Zachary Hunley and wife Alex, Logan Harmon and wife Shelby, Landry Harmon, Grace Shaw and husband Derek, Eli Chism and wife KJ, Iley Chism, Endly Chism, Quinn Cole, Carson Grice, and Hayden Grice; and great-grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Noah Johnson, Luke Johnson, and Shiloh Hunley.

Jere will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, strong work ethic, courage, artistic and creative abilities, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories he created.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. The service will be officiated by Pastor Kurt Zortman.

The family invites all who knew and loved Jere to join them in celebrating a life well lived.
