He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Ruybal. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Graham Ruybal and his children, Greg Ruybal (Lana), Marty Ruybal, Toni Johnson (Don), and Michael Ruybal (Celia); nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lillian Lucas (Jack), Henry Ruybal, Leo Ruybal, Louie Ruybal, Bonnie Ludington (Kaina), and Mary Ann Hauschildt (Harvey).
Jesse was born in Antonito, Colorado, but moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming at a young age. He spent his adult life in the U.S. Military, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard The USS Hornet and in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force at Barksdale AFB after serving his country for nearly twenty-seven years.
He was Little League coach for many years, coaching his son’s teams. His passion for golf and softball kept him fit and happy because he made so many friends.
After leaving service, he worked at the then, Arkla Gas (now Center Point Energy). After retiring from there, he worked at the BX Exchange. He was a lifetime member of The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.
Anyone who needed help in any way, Jesse was always there for them. He led a full Christian life with Margaret, whom he married in 1959, and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and Great grandfather.
Services honoring Mr. Ruybal will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Father Fidel Mondragon of Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.
