At an early age, she accepted Christ at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by: her father, Webb Davis; mother, Hattie Hines; five brothers, Howard, Ray, Nolan, Billy, and Jerry; two sisters, Elnora and Helen.

She is survived by: her husband of 54 years, Edward Smith, Jr.; two adult children, Faye Bailey (Roy), Cynthia Walker; two grandchildren, TaNesha Nance (Ronald), William Bell; four great-grandchildren, Jasmine Hall, Noah Bell, Riley Nance, Zoe Nance; one great-great grandchild, Brooke Cambell; one brother Londell (Erma); two sisters, Palestine (Daniel) and Jimmie (Craig); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service in Mrs. Smith's honor will take place within Hill Crest Memorial Park, Friday, August 21, at 11:00 AM: Section 26, Lot 171, Space 2.
