

Joann Milner Adams passed away on March 24,2025, in Haughton, LA. Joann was born on December 25, 1935 in Camden, AR to Bernice Hopkins Milner and Rose Lee Milner. Joann is survived by her sister, Shiela Remick and husband, Joe of Encampment, WY; and two daughters, Cheryl Adams Clark and husband Ronny of Haughton, LA and Judy Adams Gray and husband David of Haughton, LA; two sons, Johnny Adams and wife Loretta of Arlee, MT and Rick Adams and wife Rhonda of Haughton, LA, and sister-in-law, Eva Milner of Haughton, LA. She has nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Adams; her father, Bernice Milner and mother Rose Milner and two brothers: Talmadge Ray Milner and Wiley Milner.
Joann attended schools in Camden and Lake Village, Arkansas during her youth and graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, DC where her father worked for a local utility company. She retired from Calumet Oil Refinery in Princeton after working 20 years. She was an avid camper and after retirement loved traveling with family and friends and hosted numerous campgrounds in Arkansas, Wyoming and Montana. She was a member of Thousand Trails Campgrounds.
Joann began attending Central Assembly of God Church in 1967 and became a member in 1972. In 2022, she received a 50-year service award after faithfully serving her church in many support roles and positions right up until she passed away. Some of her roles included being the Church Pianist and singing in the choir; teaching Missionettes, Children and Adult Sunday school classes, and sign language choir. She served as the Pastor’s Secretary and Director of Care Ministry among other positions.
Joann loved inviting and bringing people to church. She loved her family and loved her church, but most of all she loved God.
Pallbearers will be Ronny Clark Jr., Chris Clark, John Johnson, Aaron Adams, Wes Adams, Carter Grimm, Mason Reine and Trey Clark. Honorary Pallbearers include Maddox Clark, Ty Adams, Bryson Reine and Jason Grimm.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life for Joann will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Shawn Reine and Pastor Jeff Gravis at Central Assembly of God Church.
In honor of Joann's love for her church, contributions may be made to Central Assembly of God, Building Fund.
