John David Lussier, 73, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2026. Born April 9, 1953, John lived in Princeton, Louisiana. He will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him.
John spent his career as a carpenter, a trade that reflected both his steady workmanship and his willingness to take on whatever a job required. Those closest to him knew that he could build anything you want, and he carried that capable spirit into everyday life with a quiet confidence.
Away from work, John found simple, meaningful joys. He loved to go on long drives, enjoyed gardening, and had an appreciation for orchestra music. He was also content to spend his time watching western shows—all day, every day—and he had a genuine fondness for animals. In the presence of family, friends, and even strangers, John had a way of bringing warmth to a moment; he enjoyed making people smile, and he was deeply loved by all who got the chance to cross his path.
John is survived by his daughter, CaSondra Lussier; grandchildren, Awston Lussier, Miah VanMeter, Logan VanMeter, and Summer Lussier; brothers, Jerry Griffith, Jessie Lussier, and Joseph Lussier; sisters, Tracy Greenwell, Terry Robles, Lisa Lussier, and Dawn Dilts; and mom, Juana Lussier. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by Beverly Lussier; son, Chris Lussier; mother, Marion Louise Dilts; father, Joseph Lussier and dad, Claude Dilts and sister, Debbie Dilts.
Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, on July 5, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
