John Eugene Shankle

SHREVEPORT, LA – A Celebration of Life service for John Shankle will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Hill Crest Memorial Park located at 601 US Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA with Pastor David Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Monday, May 4, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

John was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren hunting and fishing. John spent more than 40 years in the residential construction business and is responsible for building more than 1000 homes in the Shreveport/Bossier area.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Shankle and Janie Shankle; and his wife, Tawana Shankle. He is survived by his sons, John D. Shankle and wife Pam, Michael T. Shankle and wife Shannon, and Steven K. Shankle and wife Rachael; grandchildren, Holdon Shankle and wife Leslie, Brittany Brumfield and husband Cody, Colt Shankle, Hayden Shankle, Hannah Shankle, Brodie Shankle and Brandon Shankle; brothers, Gary Shankle, Rick Shankle, Dan Shankle and wife Marsha; and sister, Sue Swenson and husband Orin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John D. Shankle, Michael T. Shankle, Steven K. Shankle, Holdon Shankle, Colt Shankle, Brodie Shankle, Brandon Shankle and Hayden Shankle.
