John Venable

Services for Mr. Venable will start with a Visitation from 10 – 11 am, followed by the Funeral at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Hill Crest Memorial in Haughton.

“Lil John” was born on Sunday, August 29, 1965, in Shreveport, LA to the proud parents, John and Judy Venable.

Lil John was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. He loved spending his free time in the woods looking for that perfect deer. He enjoyed working on cars and collecting guns. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with family and his many friends. He was employed at Dealers Truck Equipment for many years.

Mr. Venable was preceded in death by: his father, John W. Venable, Sr.; mother, Judy K. Shaw; nephew, Christopher Perkins, and all four of his grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory are: sisters, Gwen Faurot, and her husband Chuck, Ann Clark, Serena Perkins and husband Dennis; brother, Barney “Dude” Shaw; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and long-time friend, Glen Havis.

Pallbearers are: Glen Havis, Jason Faurot, Scooter Faurot, Blake Miller, John Lafitte, and Chance Gurley. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ansley Okker and Richard Snyder.

We are sure going to miss him !
