A Celebration of Life for Johnnie Faye Canterbury White will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 beginning at 11:30am at Trinity Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana with Dr. Scott Teutsch officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30 am until 11:30 am Friday, December 15, 2023.
She was born June 17, 1930 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana to John Emery and Lorena Holmes Canterbury. Mrs. White was a faithful member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church for almost 70 years during which time she made many lasting friendships that enriched her life. She was a homemaker and also kept the books for her husband's construction business. Her family was her greatest joy in life and she loved them well, even as she was loved. She really loved traveling with family and friends, especially to Branson and Hot Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don S. White and her sister Betty Horton.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Brenda Whittington (John), Mike White (Brenda) and Suzie Good (Steve); grandchildren Brad Whittington (Ashley), Randy Whittington (Christina), Dana McGaha (Keith), Keri Frazier (John), Shelly Johnson (Toby), and Joshua Good (Jamie); great-grandchildren Colby Whittington (Lauren), Alyssa Whittington, Addison Whittington, Kelsey Cole (Andrew), Michael McGaha, Anna McGaha, Taylor Duke (Danny), Dylan Frazier, Emory Nichols, Macey Bridges, Seth Johnson, Jacob Good, Jenna Good, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. White as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice and dear friend, Belinda Montgomery; Alway Best Care and caregivers Connie, LaShunda, LaToya, and Marata, for their loving and compassionate care given to our mother.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. White's honor may be made to Tulip Cemetery, in the care of Marinda White, 8323 Hwy 518 Homer, Louisiana 71040.
