On October 26, 2021 Johnny passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart Sherry Cassel, his middle son Jeremy Cassel, his daughter Andrea Cassel Ramaker, two grandsons that were his joy and his younger brother Dennis Cassel. Johnny was preceded in death by his oldest son James Cassel, his brother Troy Cassel, his sister Nita Cassel Gentry, his parents Jake and Inez Cassel and many other relatives and friends.
Anyone who had the privilege of meeting and truly knowing Johnny knew that his greatest love was his wife Sherry (they had been together since they were just kids), his children (especially when they were being rowdy), fast hot rods and Walt Disney World (he made sure his family went almost every year).
He will be sorely missed by those he has left behind, but they all know that there was a great gathering at the gates of Heaven when he arrived. Johnny is with family and friends. He is at peace.
