

She is survived by her children Sandra Chandler, Kathy Carroll and husband Bill, grandson, Brian Carroll and wife Carrie and great-grandson Liam Carroll along with extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Mert Carter and parents, Carmel Long Smith and Floyd W. Smith and brother, Floyd W. Smith, Jr.
Juanita enjoyed being a member of the Bossier City Garden Club and also volunteered as a pink lady at Bossier Memorial Hospital. Along with her husband, Mert, they were very active members of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) for over fifty years. They were both members of Bossier City OES Chapter #175.
Juanita loved being a wife and mother. As a military wife, she loved to travel and kept a beautiful home that she shared with family and friends. She attended Elm Grove Baptist Church where she celebrated her love of the Lord and shared her faith and kindness to all who knew her.
Special thanks to the staff at Houston Extended Care and Texas Elite Hospice for the gracious love and support given to Mother and the family through her final days.
A visitation with the family will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 31st at 1:30 pm with the funeral following in the chapel at 2:30 pm.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, you consider giving to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in honor of our mother, Juanita Carter.
