Judy Lynell Adams Moseley, born July 4, 1945, in Warren, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Ree Adams and Mary Aleta Wherry Adams. She was retired and a member of Barksdale Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Carolyn Diane Adams and Martha Jean Gregory Morse, two brothers, Reece Edward Adams and J.C. Adams.
After high school, Judy met the love of her life, Hugh Wayne Moseley, and they were married at the First Baptist Church in Warren, Arkansas. Their journey became one of military service and adventure as Hugh Wayne served in the United States Air Force. The family was first stationed in Blytheville, Arkansas, where they welcomed their first child, Tamara. Their postings took them across the world, including a two-year tour in Guam, followed by Omaha, Nebraska, where their daughter Amy was born. They moved to Banks, Arkansas while Hugh Wayne was deployed to Thailand and then continued their Air Force life at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota and in Goose Bay, Labrador, where they joyfully adopted their son, Kevin. While stationed at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana, they opened their hearts and homes as dedicated foster parents, often caring for babies. A final military move in 1979 brought them to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
Throughout her life, Judy dedicated herself to serving her church and community: she worked as a Secretary at Bellaire Baptist, Harris Fredrick, and First Baptist Warren. She taught Girls in Action (GA), Sunday School, and was a devoted Women’s Missionary Union Member (WMU). She channeled her passion for children as the Director of Barksdale Baptist Daycare and later the Director of First Baptist Bossier Daycare. A woman of great warmth and unwavering spirit, Judy loved puzzles, arts and crafts, bunko, plants and gardening, and traveling. She poured her heart into family traditions, especially at Christmas, where she lovingly purchased a Hallmark ornament for every family member annually. Her commitment to mission work shone through her deep involvement with Operation Christmas Child for Samaritan’s Purse. Above all, she treasured watching her kids and grandkids play sports and rodeo. After Hugh Wayne’s service, their profound commitment to family brought them back to their hometown of Warren, Arkansas, where they selflessly cared for their elderly parents. After their parents passed, they settled once more in Bossier City, Louisiana, completing a beautiful life built on love, dedication, and the nurturing of a family.
