Julie Self Moses, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2024. Julie was born December 20, 1934 in Anacoco, Louisiana to Sam and Ruby Self. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Visitation will be at 10am followed by the service at 11am at Salem Baptist Church, 5187 LA-3276, Stonewall, Louisiana. Pastor Mike Hawkins will be officiating.
Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through the trials of life and gave her hope and peace. Julie joins in Heaven her parents; husband, Wayne Butler; her second husband, O.L. Moses; sisters Lela McMillian and Ivory Jarred; son, Gregory Butler; and her granddaughter, Holly Harrison.
Julie retired from Bellsouth after 30 years where she made many lifelong friends. She was fun-loving and loved to laugh. Her sense of humor, warm smile and beautiful heart were her greatest attributes. She loved gardening, camping and country music.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Buddy Self; daughter, Pam Rodgers (Randy); son, Lee Butler (Felicity); 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; alson with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Julie may be made to Salem Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to her grandson, David Bruce, for his compassionate, loving, care over the past few years.
