Karla Ann Breland, of Haughton, Louisiana passed away peacefully on July 10, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Karla was born January 31, 1963, in Bossier City, Louisiana. She graduated from Airline High School and thereafter followed in her mother’s footsteps to nursing school. Karla was married many years to David Breland until his death in July of 2014.
Karla is survived by her mother, Miriam Felts; older brother, Jack & wife Cheryl of Bossier City, their three children, Jackson & wife Stacy, and their 2 girls, Hannah Claire & Adeline Grace; Jennifer L. Tyson & husband Brent and Jennifer’s boys Maddox & Mason Jennings; Jared and wife Jenna and their 2 girls, Landry & Emerson. She is also survived by her younger brother, Mark Dysart; and his daughter Emily Anna (her baby girl). Also left to cherish her memory are beloved stepchildren, Jennifer Rene Breland Dysart and Johnathan Breland; along with his son, Zachary. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Pete Schnell of Bossier City; as well as a host of aunts and uncles and first and second cousins who live around the country. Karla is preceded in death by her best friend and sister, Rhonda Dysart Schnell; and her father, Jack E. Dysart.
Karla loved the Lord and showed His love whenever she could. She was a faithful member of Barksdale Baptist Church and would take her mom to church almost every Sunday. She was a great sister, aunt, Oma, good friend, and co-worker who was so loving and kind. Karla was a real animal lover and would jump at the chance to sit with her friends and family’s fur babies whenever needed!

Visitation for friends will be at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Hwy 80 on Tuesday, July 12th from 5 pm until 7 pm.
A private family graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday morning, July 13th.
