Kenneth Mark Cowan, age 72, of Princeton, Louisiana, passed away at home on Thursday, September 21, 2023. He was born on June 16, 1951, in Pasadena, Texas, to Elvern and Eunice Brossette Cowan. After college, Kenneth joined the Shreveport Fire Department on June 30, 1976, and proudly devoted thirty years of his life to fire service. He retired on January 1, 2006, rising to the officer rank of Captain.
In addition to being a devoted fireman, Kenneth was also a skilled carpenter. During his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and hunting, but loved most of all just sitting on his porch drinking a steaming cup of black coffee. We cannot forget that Dad was a compulsive Duct Tape user and abuser-- he used it on everything and loved it!
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Elvern Cowan and Eunice Brossette Cowan.
He is survived by his children, Shane Cowan (Amanda), Kimber Huffman (Shane), and Zachary Cowan (Amber), brother, Jimmy Cowan, sisters, Peggy Barnes and Kathy Harrison, aunt, Maggie Nelson, and beloved grandchildren, Charlee Cowan, Hudsyn Cowan, Lilah Cowan, Kaden Albarado, Kash Albarado, Larkin Albarado, Cruz Huffman, Athena Cowan and Zoey Cowan.
Honoring Kenneth as pallbearers will be Zachary Cowan, Dustin Barnes, Shane Huffman, Leland McNabb, D.J. Glass, and Tommy Carpenter.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Angie, Stefan and Quincy of Always Best Care Senior Services for their devoted care and unwavering compassion.
