He also received numerous awards for excellence and outstanding leadership. After retiring from the Air Force, he went on to work for the city of Shreveport and OSHA as a quality and safety inspector. He also worked for Boeing as a quality control specialist until his retirement. After retiring, he opened a small shop where he sold and traded coins, stamps, and many other collectibles. He loved to visit with those that came into the shop and shared his interests. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ church, last attending Eastwood Church of Christ in Haughton.
