Where one Father was taken another was given. As my stepfather Larry Pate taught me to go fast and have fun. I will always remember fast go-carts, learning to drive in his field, the night sky full of stars, the smell of a motorcycle shop, ice water in stainless steel, a lifetime of learning to be tough and stand for what is right.
I loved his mechanic skills and how he could and would always modify it to make it better and faster. One of the most important and valuable lessons a Father can give a child is the one of love , forgiveness and faith. He left this world leaving me with all three. I love you Larry Gene Pate and will miss you.

RiP Larry Pate
I will remember your humor and the stories you shared with me. They say we are remembered by our stories. Our stories keep us alive.
“When you speak of him, speak not with tears, for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort, for his life was rich because of you.” Sending you Love and prayers Aunt KittyKat in this time of sorrow.

May 2000. Larry & Cathy meeting their Godson Jesse Wynne Meshell for the first time. They were so happy & proud that Allen & I had asked them to be Jesse's Godparents. Larry said no one had ever asked him something like that before but you could see in his eyes that he was proud that we thought so much of them. I'm so thankful we have them in our lives & will always love them both. Larry will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

I was very sorry to hear that Larry passed away. We have been friends since 1975. we shared all our life experiences during those years. He did a lot for me as I'm sure he did for all his friends. I am so glad he had Cathy to give him love and care for so many years. I will truly miss him from now on.
