After 23 years of distinguished service, he retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Sergeant Major. A proud Vietnam veteran, he completed two tours of duty and was honored with numerous decorations, including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with an oak leaf cluster , the Army Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, and the Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign stars.
Larry was an avid sportsman who had a passion for college and NFL football, and he also found great joy in golf, fishing, and hunting.
Larry is survived by his son Dave and wife, Jeannie, and granddaughter, Hailey Spolarich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Soonja Spolarich; sister, JoAnne Fairchild; father, Pete Spolarich, and mother, Gladis Spolarich.
A graveside for Larry will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana 71047.
