

Laurie was born on April 11, 1928 to Byron and Louise Dodez Cook in Greenwood, LA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking (for everyone including the yardmen), singing and was well known for her crocheted dolls. Laurie was warm and welcoming to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell Juhl; daughter Ann Strong; siblings Byron "Sonny" Cook, Jr., Alice VanAlstyne, Jerry Cook and Cookie Parrish.
Laurie is survived by her daughters Jan Strong and Addie Elliott; grandchildren Lisa Pehrson, Lara Lenore, Andrea Michels (Kevin) and Micah Tietz; 12 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brother Louis Cook and sister Donna Bass, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Laurine will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel followed by a service. Interment will be held at Hill Crest Park.

Special thanks to Dr. Ted Warren and staff for the care and comfort they provided for years. We are also grateful for our devoted caregivers: Theresa Wilson who prayed with Laurie twice a day, Evelyne Porter, Cindy Beshea, Jim Davis, Yolanda Taylor and Cindy Glover. We thank the good and always kind first responders from Bossier Parish Fire District I on Highway 80, who came many times and often left with one of her dolls.
