Laverne Madden

Laverne was a hairdresser for many years before she went to work for the Bossier Parish School Board, supervising the safety of special needs students during transportation to and from school. She enjoyed cooking and teaching her recipes to family and friends. Laverne was the matriarch of both the Litton and the Madden families. She was also a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Some of her favorite time spent was with her grandson Colton, traveling with her husband, Gene, and other friends and family.

Mrs. Madden was also a faithful and dedicated member of Cypress Baptist Church. She truly cherished her church and church family.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Madden; one brother and one sister and other family members.

She is survived by her; son, Rodney Madden and wife Lisa; grandson, Colton Madden and wife Molly; sisters, Gloria Coats and Rose Meshell; brother, Donald Litton; sister-in-law, Micki Madden, as well as extended family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Tommy Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Park.

Pallbearers will be Colton Madden, Bubba Brothers, Mark Moorehead, David Moorehead, Tony Lewis and Bubba Coats.
