

She was born on December 31, 1934, in Dalhart, TX to Ann Mae Dilbeck Sharp Case and Carlos Lee Sharp. Her father passed away when she was two years old and her mother remarried to Allen Leo Case who loved Lee Ann so much, he gave her his last name. and raised her from the age of three on. She lived in West Monroe, LA and attended Ouachita Parish High School where she received various popularity awards. Her family then relocated to El Dorado Arkansas, where she graduated from El Dorado High School in 1954 and her personality excelled with honors there also. Lee Ann married her high school sweetheart, Robert D. Heard on June 4, 1955, from there they would be off to attend Ouachita Baptist College.
They expanded their family with the birth of their first daughter, Kathleen. Senior year of college Bob decided to go to the officer’s training school for the Air Force not knowing this would be an adventure that would take Lee Ann all around the world. While stationed in Alaska they had their second daughter, Valerie. Lee was very active in Officers’ Wives' Club, Eastern Star, the PTA and Homeroom Mothers. Another move brought the family to Germany. Lee Ann built lasting friendships with people from all over, some she wrote letters to until last year.
Bob’s retirement brought the family back to Louisiana and they settled in Bossier City. Lee remained very active. At her church, First Baptist Bossier, she was a greeter, served on the bereavement committee, was an officer in the Grace Sunday School class, and activity coordinator for the class. She also was a longtime member of the Crosslake Home makers club where she was the program coordinator officer for over 30 years. She served as a PTA officer and her and Bob chaperoned so many trips, dances and activities. Lee Ann even went to Disney World with the choir to represent Louisiana.
Her biggest pride was her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Evangel football games to watch her grandson, Austin. She continued to watch him play in college. She was so proud of grandson, Christopher’s talent for wrestling. Lee Ann was their biggest fan.
Lee Ann was known for her generous spirit and love of giving. She especially cherished Christmas and birthdays, always going above and beyond to make others feel special.
She joins in Heaven her husband, Robert “Bob” Heard; father, Carlos Lee Sharp; mother, Anna Mae Dilbeck Sharp Case; Dad, Allen Leo Case; brother, Marion Sharp; and sisters, Alice Sharp.
Lee Ann is survived by her daughter, Valerie Kesterson and husband Joel of Dierks, AR; daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Barnes and husband Donald of Tampa, FL; two grandsons, Austin Kesterson and wife Ashley of Houma, LA, Christopher Barnes and Lupita DeLeon of Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Landen LeCompte and Aubrey Kesterson of Houma, LA, half-sister Jane DeFreese of Haughton, LA and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A visitation for Lee Ann will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Austin Kesterson, Christopher Barnes, Scott DeFreese, Donald Barnes and Landen LeCompte. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Tuttle, Paul Draper, Andre Kurkiewicz, Bob Brace, Mike Grisby, Charlie Johnson, Doug Rogers and Robert Mayhan.
The family would like thank to her great nephew, Richard Sharp Martin for all his love and support. The family would also like to express their thanks to the Arkansas Hospice Association and the Dirksen hospice association and the precious angels who took care of our mother. We would like to extend a special thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses who were involved in the excellent care provided to our mom. Your kindness and compassion meant a lot to our family during this difficult time. We thank all of y’all for all the special prayers, food, and support you have given us we are very blessed for having such a wonderful people in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
