Bossier City, LA Funeral services for Linda S. Bates will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Devine. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bates passed away at home on Sunday, August 14, 2011. She was born August 8, 1948 to Lawrence and Dorothea Strong in Longview, TX.
Linda enjoyed cooking and crocheting. But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, that will be missed by all that knew her.
Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Roger; son, Michael “Larry” Bates and wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Teri Lynn Bates; two grandchildren, Taylor Anne and Mason Leigh McArthur; her mother; and two uncles, Mike Strong of Shreveport, LA and James Terry of San Antonio, TX.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Ellis Richard, Harold "Kiddy" Richard, Bob Emerick, Mark Duncan, and Mike Puckett.
