On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Will Cummings of Shreveport, Louisiana, a loving son, brother, and friend passed away at the age of 38.

Lon Wilfred Cummings was born on January 9, 1983 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Brad and Debbie Cummings. Will was a proud alum of Loyola College Prep in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating high school in 2001, he continued his studies at Louisiana Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management. After college and following in his father’s footsteps, Will began his professional career in the oil business as an in-house landman and later was a licensed real estate agent in Texas and Louisiana.

Will was a friend to many. He loved life and having fun with his friends—many of whom he has had since childhood and his days at Loyola and Tech. Will was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved to run with his beloved dog, Rusty. Will was a former member of East Ridge Country Club and he was a member of the AAPL. Will loved sports. He loved to play golf with friends and colleagues and he enjoyed watching March Madness and all things LSU with friends and family. His smile and laughter were contagious and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Will is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Wilfred Cummings and Mary Bogan Cummings, and his maternal grandparents, Lon L. Chaney and Jean Freeman Wright Chaney. He is survived by his parents, James Bradford Cummings and Deborah Chaney Cummings. He is also survived by his younger brother, James Andrew Cummings—all of Bossier City, LA. He is also survived by his aunts, Crystal Chaney Adkins of Bossier City, Louisiana, Kay Cummings Hoffman and husband Chuck of Benton, Louisiana and his uncle, Corky Bogan Cummings and wife Margaret of Wichita Falls, Texas. He is also survived by cousins and extended family, who loved him dearly.

The pallbearers will be Chris Austin, Ryan Day, Jon Edwards, Jeff Kennedy, Cassidy King, Mike McCathern, Holland Miciotto, Craig Strong, and Ryan Templeton. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana on Friday, April 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10th at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church at the head of Texas Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Steven Bell, Senior Pastor, and Dr. Pat Day, retired Pastor of Tyler, Texas. Graveside services at Hill Crest and a reception will follow the funeral services.

Memorial donations in honor of Will can be made to First United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 1567, Shreveport, LA 71165-1567 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
