Louis Grant

Bossier City, LA

Services for CMSgt. (Retired) Louis Grant will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012, in the Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park with full military honors.

Grant entered into rest peacefully with family at his bedside, at the age of 91. He retired from Air Force active duty at Barksdale Air Force Base on August 1, 1969 with 30 years of service to his country. He was a long time resident of Bossier City. Grant will be buried alongside of his bride of 63 years, Kathleen Carlisle Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Thomas Grant and Jessie Winnifred Windham and step-father Andy Becher; brothers, Allen and Howard Grant; sister, Mable Popalio; nephew, Mike Duty and beloved daughter-in-law Gwen Grant.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Louis W. Grant, Bob and wife Cathy Grant; daughter, Karen Grant Yerby; grandchildren, Ryan and wife Julia Grant, Kelly and husband Chris Stout, Tonya Colvin, Melissa Capella, Candice Yerby and Grant Yerby, and nine great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Carl and Sybil King, Margaret Loomis, his caring neighbors. Also to Calie Craven and Ben Griffin, ICU nurses at LSU Hospital, for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Kathleen Grant's memory.
