Luther Wayne Davis Sr.

Luther married Carolyn Divine on July 19, 1963. He lived most of his life in Oil City, LA, and later moved to Princeton, LA to be closer to his children. Luther was a family man who in his spare time loved to fish and be outdoors, and to cook and eat with his family.

Luther leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of fifty years, Carolyn; their three children, Lisa Davis Taylor and husband Richard Taylor, Cheri Davis Morris, and husband Greg Morris, and Luther W. Davis Jr. and his wife Jessica Davis; his siblings, Beverly Davis Beresford and husband John Beresford, Phyllis Davis Harris and husband Richard Harris; and all of his favorite nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Dwayne and wife Jaime Massey and Hannah Massey, Luke and Macy Davis, Chelsea and Mollie Morris; and his 6 great-grandchildren. Luther is preceded in death by his parents; his oldest brother, Leslie Davis Jr., and his youngest brother, Carl Lynn Davis.

Funeral services for Luther will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. William Massey officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Honoring Luther as pallbearers are Dwayne Massey, Luke Davis, Greg Morris, Marvin Skipper, Timmy and Corey Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Harris, John McDaniel, Hammer Nottingham, Clay Massey, Tex Davis, Hershel Allen, Jimmy Terry, Kenny Melvin, and Bud Roberts.
