Maggie B. Nelson

Maggie B. Nelson, age 98 passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. Maggie was born on Wednesday, September 29, 1926, in Cloutierville, Louisiana to the late Clifford Brossett, Sr., and Josephine Madine Brossett.

She was a devout Catholic. Maggie was an ole' school kind of cares to her loving family. She would cook bacon, save the grease and make soap for use. Every weekend, Maggie looked forward to spending quality time with her family. She loved making quilts for her loved ones, gumbo to enjoy with her family, and tending to her garden that provided fresh vegetables for her to cook with. Maggie, always enjoyed a good book, National Geographic, and Reader's Digest. Gathering for the holidays meant so much to Maggie because it always meant seeing her family, good times and blessed memories.

Maggie was preceded in passing by her parents; one daughter, Sue Nelson, and six siblings.

Left to cherish Maggie's beautiful memories are her three sons: Bruce Nelson, Charles Nelson, Michael Nelson, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A visitation for Maggie will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM until time for Maggie's Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Houghton, Louisiana 71037.

Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Haughton, Louisiana, 71037.

The family would like to extend their sincerest-deepest gratitude to Bruce and Mike for sacrificing their time to provide, care, protection, love, friendships, and help when Maggie needed it. We would like to thank our friends and families for the prayers and condolences extended during this difficult time.
